Tired of the faux support on the internet, I set out and created my own solution.
You have a dream, right?
- Do you sit in a cubicle all day dreaming about being a professional photographer?
- Do you wait on tables hoping to launch a successful cooking blog?
- Do you just want more freedom and control over your life?
If at some point during your day you take time to think about a higher version of yourself, you have a dream.
And for the most part our dreams aren’t that far out of reach. However, the moment we start dreaming we do one of three things:
- We ignore our thoughts and “reason” our way out of them
- We tell ourselves we’ll go after our dream tomorrow
- We hop on Google and become overwhelmed with the amount of “help” available
We do everything except taking one real actionable step forward in the direction we want to go. Our dreams remain locked up in our brain and collect brain dust.
But here’s the thing, I completely understand why we hold ourselves back: we lack support.
Dreams take more than just hard work to become something substantial. They need support, guidance, and accountability to grow.
I know this is true because my dream wouldn’t be anything if it weren’t for Todd.
It Started With A Tweet
Two years ago I formulated my dream of becoming a self-employed writer.
The creative process, the freedom to work from anywhere, and the lure of seeing my name printed on a real tangible book made this dream irresistible to ignore.
While I pushed past the temptation to ignore my dream and just continue working at my 9-to-5 with the hope of another promotion, I still wasn’t ready to seek support.
So instead, I struggled all by myself to make progress. I blogged every week. A few readers trickled in and out. I started on a book, but I had little to show for it.
Until one day I found an interesting article on Medium and decided to share it on Twitter.
I then received a reply.
Which then became an email exchange.
Which eventually became a friendship.
This one connection happened to become the person who supported my dream the most.
He set the schedule, he edited my book, and he wrote the foreword. When it was all said and done, he even took time out of his lunch to hold a live interview to help introduce me to his readers.
I wouldn’t have finished my book if it weren’t for someone like Todd.
Someone who could take my dream and converted it into actionable steps. Someone who could hold me accountable. Someone who could invest themselves completely into my dream.
It only takes one person to support your dream.
But Where Do I Find My One Person?
There aren’t a lot of Todd’s in this world.
Instead, the internet is full of coaches looking to capitalize on your dream by charging you $1,000 per coaching session and dropping you the moment they find a higher paying client.
Or it’s full of endless “free” resources (such as eBooks and videos) which are nothing more than a tactic to snag your email address so they can sell you more stuff later.
Tired of these two options, I set out and created a third: SHRPA.
SHRPA is a community of Climbrs (members) and Shrpas (mentors/advisors) who are just as invested in your dream as you are.
With one-on-one accountability, mastermind groups, monthly webinars, as well as a trove of free resources, every Climbr has the opportunity to accomplish 5 major goals in a span of just 12 weeks.
This 12-week goal busting marathon is what we call the Xpedition.
The SHRPA philosophy was inspired by the Sherpas of Mount Everest who not only provide support and motivation to mountaineers but also carry the load and help their climbers reach the summit.
Sherpas are as much a part of the expedition as the mountaineers.
And the same concept applies when you join an Xpedition. You are immediately partnered with your own Shrpa who meets with you every other week, holds you accountable to your goals, and is even willing to help lend a hand whenever possible.
If you’ve struggled to go after your dream and lack the necessary support to do so, the first Xpedition launches January 2, 2017.
The only question left is, will you be part of it?
Want to join an elite group of dreamers?
SHRPA is looking for determined, ambitious, and goal-oriented people who want to go after big dreams. Whether it’s writing a book, starting a business, or leaving your job, SHRPA has the community and resources needed for your to start climbing toward your summit.
Space is limited! Only 15 people will be accepted into the 1st Xpedition launching January 2nd, 2017. Claim your spot today!
