“What am I doing with my life?”
The above question is something we’ve all asked ourselves at one point (or multiple points) in our lives. It’s inevitable. We grow up believing someday we’ll be a doctor, or a fireman, or a superhero – but then life happens.
Confused, we look for an imaginary compass to point us in the right direction. But that compass does not exist.
There also isn’t a map we are supposed to follow, a trail laid out before us, nor a roadway to success.
Instead, our dreams remain on a distant horizon.
Therefore, asking ourselves, “Am I on the right path?” can lead to a downward spiral of anxiety and fear-filled thoughts.
So the better question to ask one’s self should be, “What’s the next step?”
Today, right now in the present moment, there are only a few steps you can possibly take towards your dream. Forget about the master plan. Lock into what needs to be done in this very moment, and do it.
Then wake up tomorrow and repeat.
